Welcome to BayouWX! Here you will find the thoughts and analysis of longtime student of all things science, meteorologist Chuck Boudreaux of Berwick, Louisiana. A native and lifelong resident of the Berwick Bay Region of the central Louisiana Gulf Coast, Chuck, now medically disabled, has studied and researched tropical cyclones, especially those impacting the Gulf Coast, for nearly 30 years. He is an active member of the American Meteorological Society, National Weather Association, and National Science Writers Association. His early "retirement", with its wealth of time, has also allowed Chuck to continue the study of tropical meteorology along with interests in particle physics, seismology and genomics. So discussions may sometimes drift from meteorology on short tangents.

BayouWX is designed as an educational tool only. This absolutely applies to discussions of tropical systems. While every effort is made to keep you up-to-date with systems impacting the Louisiana Gulf Coast and elsewhere, it is just not possible to always do so. Health issues, life in general, and the restraints of a one-man staff limit how much can be presented.
